The Christmas Tree Ranch began over 37 years ago, when founder Mike Pomroy started with just two fields. In those early days, Mike spent years cutting balsam and selling it to the paper mill in Bucksport - for just $32 a cord!

Today, the ranch has grown to six thriving fields and expanded its offerings, thanks in part to co-owner Lee Treadwell. Lee first met Mike in 2023 at the local pub, Airline Brewing Co., where a few friendly questions over a couple of beers turned into a partnership. What started as curiosity about tree farming has grown into a true collaboration, and Mike is grateful to have Lee helping keep the tradition alive and growing.

Together, they’re continuing to expand the ranch. A new Sugar Shack is underway, complete with a large evaporator for maple syrup production, and they’re developing a new plot for vegetable and flower seedlings, which will be available in the spring.

At their core, Mike and Lee believe in family, hard work, and community. They feel truly lucky to be part of the Airline area and are grateful to the many families who come from near and far to create holiday memories at the Christmas Tree Ranch each year.
